Big Kid Update {Teeth & Zippers}

Our big kids' lives are still turning, though we've added a sister to the mix.  We are struggling with correcting wrong behaviors, of which there has been plenty.  Though we realize we've added a lot to their plates we don't believe in "excusing" behavior because "mom brought home a baby."  If you start that kind of routine you'll find there's always another excuse around the corner.  Thus, it's been a bit of a trying week.  We've worked hard to give each child their own special attention and to stick with our routine as good as we can.  Next week will be the real test, when Dad goes back to work.  Perseverance and someday soon this will all be a distant memory.

There has been growth & chance, however.  Xavier, age 3 3/4 years, learned how to zip his coat.  Yeah buddy - we're so proud of you!!!

Natalee, age 5 years, 4 months, has lost not one but TWO teeth this week.  Dad had to pull a bleeding, loose one on Monday (the top one) and then tonight (Wednesday) I saw a hole in her mouth on the bottom while she was playing.  Losing teeth is traumatizing, she hates the tooth fairy, and she doesn't want to talk about.  So dad just paid her $1 for her tooth, she picked it up off the floor and threw it away!
She is finding eating to be somewhat of a challenge with no front teeth and has 2 more loose ones to come out in the near future.
Monday night's picture, with no two front teeth.
 Tonight - minus two top teeth and one bottom tooth.

Hurray for X! Just in time for mama with a new babe! And poor N. Sorry it's so traumatic for her. Thankfully all of our children have either been unconcerned about losing teeth or have been incredibly excited. That's a little easier.
