Every once in awhile the local area churches get together for an evening "singin'". They call it a singspiration. Hymns are called out and everyone sings as a congregation and folks randomly get up and sing specials. When this was announced in church in early April the kids got wind and asked to sing a special. Who am I to curb their fervor to sing for the Lord? So...we let them.
They were, by far, the youngest folks in attendance by many years, and they were fawned over and loved on well after their little performance. We chose to do a well known stand by so that they were comfortable with their music.
I was pleased with how brave they were and that they didn't get bashful when they got on stage. They were very eager to do their piece!
