The Tabernacle Experience

Last week Mike took a spur of the moment day off to take us to The Tabernacle Experience.
Waiting our turn. (We had a very rainy day but after 2 lightening delays the skies cleared and we completed our journey with no more rain.)

Seriously, this video (click the word "video") portrays it better than I could ever put it into words.  Even the children were in awe and when we were done we were all surprised we'd been inside the courtyard/tents for an hour+.  When we arrived we put on head sets and were given iPods that narrated the experience for us.  We chose to do the children's version so that Natalee and Xavier could better understand.  It is hard to even wrap my mind around the intimacy and delicacy and exact precision with which each item in and around the Tabernacle was created.

We weren't allowed to use our cameras during the tour.  To be honest, stopping to pose for photos would have taken away from the seriousness and spiritual manner of the journey.

Today I had the children journal draw the "stops" that the journey took us through.  After four days I am amazed at what they remembered and took away from the experience.  We've had many good family discussions since we went.  Truly, only God have orchestrated our history and Bible studies to be centered around Moses, the Tabernacle, and the Ark of the Covenant these last weeks and then me getting the email about the Tabernacle Experience.  I am almost giddy that my children had this experience and were able to bring the Bible to life.

My favorite picture that Xavier drew...him and Daddy by the ramp to the sacrifice fire.  If you look closely you'll see their head phones and the iPod around Daddy's neck.
