First Drive-In Movie!

We are friends with a family who have many children and instead of trying to have parties 10-11 times a year they did a large "all in one" bash last night.  They organized a "drive-in movie" complete with a large blow up screen, popcorn machine, soda, and other snacks.  My kids have never been to a drive in movie so they thought it was a hoot!  It was such a fun family night - the kids got to play for a couple of hours before it got dark and then we all got to snuggle up and enjoy the movie Home.  We had purposefully not watched it yet so that it would be new and exciting for us!

Papa George graciously let us borrow his truck to sit in...the big kids chose to sit on the mat with their friends for awhile but then moved up midway through the movie when it got chillier out.

Ameliya particularly thought the experience was great.  She loved sitting in the back of truck up above everyone (queen moment, perhaps?) and thought the snacks were superb!

Our friends went out of their way to serve dye free everything.  That's so humbling for us and makes us feel so loved.  They'd even researched and we learned that Aldi sells dye free orange, grape, & red soda!  What fun!! Natalee had her first taste of orange soda last night!  Xavier chose Sprite, of course - his favorite!
 Mom's flash is bright. :)

After Mia gorged on UNREAL colored candies (dye free M&M's), popcorn and milk she snuggled up with her Daddy and passed out.

We're thankful for a fun night and great friends.  Our friends don't expect gifts but we chose to give a family gift that many of them could enjoy...after a lot of thought I went back to my trusty Usborne and chose:

The tins are reusable - cards with dry erase markers, but then we threw in the sticker book for something fun for the littler friends.

A perfect evening - truly.  Only made better if the back of the truck would have had it's own personal potty for the pregnant lady.  {wink}

How fun! So sorry we missed it! :( How did you like Home? We haven't seen it yet either. That sounds like her thoughtfulness, finding the dye-free treats.

Love the thoughtful gifts--that doodle tin is on my "wish list" ever since Erin talked about it on fb. I think it would be great for church or any other "quiet time".

Weird, did my comment not post last time?

I said something along the lines of:

1) the party looks fun--sorry we missed it!
2) I still love the Doodle Tin. I've wanted to snag one ever since I saw Erin's review of it.

Drop me a note the next time you're placing an order, would you? I think I'll order that and also the animal doodle activity cards. (you are a bad influence! giggle)
