Boots' Obituary

Betty Gail (Beeler) Crooks November 26, 1945 – August 30, 2015 

Betty Gail (Beeler) Crooks (aka “Boots”), 69 of Merriam, Kansas passed away on Sunday, August 30, 2015 in Kansas City, Missouri.
The daughter of Dale LaRue and Elizabeth Elaine (Betty) (Moore) Beeler, she was born on November 26, 1945 in Kirksville, Missouri. She was a 1963 graduate of the Lancaster High School in Lancaster, Missouri and also graduated from the Donnelly College in Kansas City, Missouri. She was employed by U.S. Steel, Black and Veatch and KU Medical Center and retired in 2013.
On December 3, 1977 she was united in marriage to Robert Crooks in Prairie Village, Kansas.
She is survived by her husband, Robert Crooks of Merriam, Kansas; her mother, Betty Beeler of Lancaster, Missouri; one brother, Phil Beeler and wife, Sara of Lancaster, Missouri; one sister, Penny Brummer and husband, Denny of Glenwood, Missouri; one uncle, Jim Steggall and wife, Marilyn of Lancaster, Missouri; one aunt, Mary Beeler of Lancaster, Missouri; brothers-in-law, Ron and Betty Crooks of Kansas and David and Pat Crooks of Arizona; Nieces and nephews, Mike Beeler and wife, Jenn of Lancaster, Missouri, Kea Beeler Paredes and husband, Miguel of Columbia, Missouri, Eric Brummer and wife, Breanna of Lancaster, Missouri and Anthony Brummer of Queen City, Missouri; many cousins; other family members and many special friends.
Boots is preceded in death by her father, Dale Beeler; twin brother, Eddie Dale Beeler in infancy; grandparents, George and Goldie Beeler and Herbert and Opal Moore.
Boots was a member of the Christian Church in Merriam, Kansas.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, September 4, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at the Lancaster Christian Church in Lancaster, Missouri with Billy Wallace, Pastor of the Lancaster Christian Church officiating. Music will be provided by organist, Maureen Watkins and soloist, Beth Withrow. Special selections will be “The Lord’s Prayer” and “The Old Rugged Cross”. Pallbearers will be Eric Brummer, Anthony Brummer, Mike Beeler, Miguel Paredes, Rex Beeler and Jack Beeler. Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 4, 2015 between the hours of 6-8:00 p.m. at the Norman Funeral Home in Lancaster, Missouri. Memorials have been established for the Lancaster Christian Church Youth Program.  Burial will be in the Arni Memorial Cemetery in Lancaster, Missouri. Arrangements are under the direction of the Norman Funeral Home of Lancaster, Missouri.
