Listen, Listen, Do You Hear...? {Mama}

Ameliya started saying Mama on Christmas Day.  I forgot how precious it sounds to hear your name for the first time.  Unfortunately she only says it when she wants milk or is sad.  Ha.

Listen (this was the middle of the night - when she first wakes up for milk she fake cries and calls "mama").

And when she has to lay still and have her diaper changed...

Daddy is anxiously awaiting his turn to hear his name from her precious tiny voice.

It Just Gets Better...

Life just keeps getting richer here at the Beeler residence...
Xabe got a tool belt from Aunt Lauren and Uncle Lance for Christmas.  He has it so weighted down that, even on the smallest waist setting it slides down his slender hips and non existent bum.  Daddy fixed him right up this morning...
Daddy's tool belt has suspenders, too, so they are 2 peas in a pod.

Then, Xavier and I "manned it up" this morning...
He thought this was hilarious and then went and got a mustache to "go to work".  He's such a card.

We tried to make Mia manly, but as it turns out 9 months old don't wear mustaches well...

In other news around the abode, the big kids got a magazine this morning!
(ignore the couch - I washed the cushion covers and they are waiting to be put back on)

Ameliya loves to check the window in the morning to see if Mr. Sun is here!

We also started reading Little House in the Big Woods last night.  Sigh.  My favorite.  I love falling into a book with my children.
We are ending 2014 doing all kinds of exciting things like cleaning house, building Legos, doing laundry, having puppet shows, and living life to the fullest!!

Meet Kira

My mom and dad got Natalee a baby doll for her first Christmas.  Her name was Scout and she was beloved.  She was soft and has been washed many times.  A few months ago I went to get Scout to put in Natalee's memory box and found her...still snuggled in Natalee's bed.  I didn't realize she still slept with her but she does.  Xavier formed an attachment to a minky satin blankie that he also still sleeps with.
This year, Mom and Dad got Ameliya her baby doll for Christmas.  Her name is Kira and she's quickly becoming a good friend...

Welcome to the pack, Kira!

9 Months Old {Ameliya}

Our sweet baby is 9 months old today.  I just can't believe how quickly time is flying.  I thought it would go slower since I'm home everyday but it's marching along at an alarming rate of speed.  I'm so blessed to be here for every babble, smile, runny nose, dirty diaper, slobbery kiss, and big milestone.
At 9 months old Ameliya:
  • is almost 25 pounds
  • is 28" tall
  • has 6 teeth

  • has had chicken pox!
  • says "uh-oh, hello, and mama" with purpose

  • crawls her own way, but is quick
  • pulls up to people who are lying on the floor
  • is very very busy!

  • still nurses but also eats table food
  • loves her toys

  • dances to music
  • tests her boundaries
  • loves big brother and sister
  • laughs with abandon
  • also screams with abandon at times
  • is stubborn with a temper
  • loves life
  • is cautious around men, especially those with facial hair
  • has a contagious smile
  • sometimes snores when she's sleeping

We love you, precious light.  You are as sweet and saucy as they come!

Christmas with the Tallmans

This year we celebrated Christmas with my folks on Dec 26th.  It was such a fun day full of laughter, relaxing, eating and loving one another!  We were all spoiled beyond measure and the van was full up on the way home.  More importantly, our love tanks were full up to overflowing.
My kids were most excited about their stockings!
He's decided he likes clear soda and it's become a huge treat that he gets occasionally!
Mia got Yummy Earth suckers in her stocking, which Aunt Lauren promptly opened and gave her.  Spoiled much? :)

New insulated Dan's for dad.

A new puppy for Mia that she has a love/hate with.  She loves it but she's sure not very nice to it!

A blowgun for Colby.

We got Emma egg decorating supplies!

Lance was there but I guess he kept himself tucked away from our cameras all day!

I made Mom and Dad an updated 18x24 wall collage from our new pictures that were taken this fall.

A new baby doll for Ameliya...

Xavier got a lamp and an alarm clock for his bedroom, among lots of other treasures like a TMNT jacket, sled, tool belt, parachute, Splinter action figure...

Natalee also got a sled (they are anxiously awaiting snow!), paints, markers, paper, Legos, comfy clothes (her favorite!!, including camo leggings!)...

Mia was spoiled too!  Bongo singing drums, a rocking puppy and "pet puppy", her baby doll, comfy cotton PJs (they are so sweet on her!), a cutsie comfy outfit...

I'm excited about my new egyptian cotton bed blanket and quilt and my new clothes and grater attachment for my mixer!  I got new jeans that are cute and comfy but not "mom" jeans.  Yay!

Mike got a new bicycle and has already put some miles on it!  Right now he's out taking mail to the post office on his bike.  He also got a biker t-shirt that he'd had his eye on and a road kit in case his trusty Lumina breaks down on him on his commute.

The parachute!  I was playing and trying to take pics!

Wrestle time with Papa!

Game time!

It was a great day!  We stayed up too late, ate too much food, and laughed hard (can't ever laugh too hard, right!?).

Mike and I got most of the new things put away when we got home (late) which felt great the next morning!  Xavier, of course, needed his new lamp and alarm clock and had new socks to sleep in too!  He's such a hoot sometimes.
I pray all your Christmases are {were} as full of family and love as ours!!  We have two more left to celebrate!!
