It's a Privilege

It's no fun to have sick kids.  But I count it one of my greatest blessings to be home with them when they are getting ill and be able to allow them to crawl up on Mama's lap and be rocked.  Or to bunk in our bed (or on a cot on our floor at night).  Truly, it's a privilege.

Xavier started in with a sore throat and cough Friday night.  No fever, but he rarely has one.  I started him on our vitamin/supplement regimen and some honey cough syrup and LOTS of rest/sleep and water and today (Tuesday) he's much better.  Natalee crawled up on my lap today and wanted rocked.  You can always see illness right through her eyes.  She finally decided at 11 to go lay down and she slept till 4, waking up with a 102 fever (her body fights NOTHING without a fever).  She hasn't had much cough so I'm praying that she'll escape it.  I started her on the same vitamin/supplement regimen as Xavier when he got sick so maybe that'll make the difference in her getting the WHOLE illness.

So blessed that illness in our home isn't filled with those hard parenting choices of who has to stay home from work, whether to keep the child home, etc.  We know we are blessed - truly.
