The Week We Gave to COVID {Jan 1-8}

 We gave the beginning of the new year to COVID, isolation, and recovery.

Sickness started creeping into the house the end of the week before the new year, and then on New Year's day we were able to get a test in our Wal-Mart order for me and I tested positive.  Mike mostly suffered from head and body aches and fatigue, and then later a cough.  Natalee had a fever for about 36 hours.  Xavier, Ameliya, and Zayden tested positive but had no symptoms.  The mom, however, she got taken down down.  Hard.

We spent the week resting when we needed to rest.  I slept a LOT, but tried to make sure Mike got a nap everyday, too.
We tried to get out for fresh air as much as possible.
Puff-mallow (she insisted on two hats).
So thankful for these healthy children.
We watched too much television.  But also, we did what we needed to do.  Ev got good at making a nest and snuggling in.
Scooter in the house?  Sure.
She's too much.  She's just enough.
Box of covid tests.  We decided to test all the children, even the ones without symptoms simply so we'd know who might have some natural immunity built up.  Evalynn tested negative but I would guess it was from a faulty specimen collection.
When mom had too much of the TV, we switched to books.
The older 4 children had some lovely play scenes set up in the basement and played many adventures.  Legos, Playmobil, castles, etc.  Evalynn got to go down for a bit each day but she is still learning she can't just take what she wants when the others are playing so her time in the play area was limited.  Enjoy this mash-up of her ornery cuteness from the week.
