Zayden's Basketball Debut

Zayden Sam had his first basketball game and it was possibly the cutest thing ever.  He is playing basketball with the YMCA, who partnered with the large Nazarene church in town (they used to have their own basketball league, but the two teamed up this year and it's great!). 

The games were at the Nazarene church and they had such a fun entrance for each of the players.  They were wonderful and welcoming hosts, too, and really created a fun community atmosphere.

Zayden got his hands on the basketball a couple of times and did his best the whole time he played.  He tried for a basket, did some rebounding and dribbling, made some passes, and worked at some defense.

Zayden's cousin, Rogan, plays the same age bracket and we played his team today.  Funny enough, though, the boys each had 8 players on their teams, so were split into 2 groups of 4 and rotated in and out so all the kids got play time....and Rogan and Zayden never hit the floor at the same time!  

But they're still cute.

We play every Saturday morning through the beginning of March.  Who needs to sleep in anyways?
