Vacation Day 2 {Six Flags}

After the History Museum on Sunday the sky had cleared.  We went and had a good lunch at Cracker Barrel, and decided, since the forecast for Monday looked brutally hot, we'd go ahead and brave Six Flags.

Ohhhhh, how I didn't want to go.  I was tired and hot just thinking about it.  I prayed the whole way there for God to righten my attitude and by the end, He had.  He is merciful to tired, pregnant mamas.

(For the vacation planners - the big kids and I had free tickets from Read to Succeed program, Mike paid for his + parking = $20).

We went straight to the young children's area when we arrived - my kids have never done any carnival type rides so I knew they'd need to acclimate before trying anything too wild.  Praise God, that although the parking lot was full and there were people everywhere the children's area was not busy.  The kids didn't have to wait long to do anything and besides the rides that had to close often to clean up puke (gross) we circulated them all pretty well.
Not a fan of even the pretend train - besides the big train we rode this was the only one she didn't love.
 duck lips...
 They all loved the swings...

The big kids and Daddy waited in line to ride the Screaming Eagle and got almost to the end and it closed!  Sigh.  We took a break from Bugs Bunny land and went to check out the Ferris Wheel.  We got ready to board and they closed it for weather!  Sigh.  We struggled with these type of things all day but kept a positive attitude.  We went to the train (poor Mia) as it was mainly the only thing open, and road it round trip to check out the park.  After that the big kids and Daddy road the Pandemonium.

It was impossible to get a pic/video of them but here is what the ride is like.  The kids were very brave (as was Daddy - he doesn't like to spin!) but it got rated an overall "don't care to ride again today" by all involved parties.

We went back to Bugs Bunny Park for awhile

and waited until we saw the Ferris Wheel start up again and then we scurried back to get our turn!

I actually don't love the Ferris Wheel - if I'm going to be high up I want it to be a fast descent - but as it was one of two things I was allowed on I went for it!
My day was full of these signs (as anticipated):
I wasn't even allowed on the kiddy rides with Mia - Daddy had to do all of those!

Xavier's favorite ride was the "squirters" as he called them:

Natalee liked the airplanes and Thunder River which Daddy drug them on because it's his favorite!

After waiting to ride Thunder River, it was a bit after 8.  We told the kids to pick their favorite thing and we'd take them back.  Mike took Xavier to the Tsuanmi Soaker (squirters) and Natalee and I headed to the airplanes/balloons with Mia.  The big kids were beat, but Mia was getting her second wind.  Daddy and Xabe joined us and after one time around on a couple of different rides the big kids relaxed on a bench but Ameliya Darby shut down the park.

She was literally the LAST kid off the airplanes for the day.

(The video gets fuzzy but if you look you'll see her little arm waving as she goes around.  The people around us were amazed that she'd ride alone so young!)
The workers were all young teens but were gracious to us in that if there was no line the kids got to ride on repeat if they wanted to.  So she road the planes 2-3 times in a row at the end until we pulled her off and they barred the line closed.
Ameliya, Six Flags is now closed...you must exit the park...
This was the day I was most fearful of - the heat, the people, the lines, the toddler - but it turned out fine in the end.  The 6-7 hours we spent there was PLENTY and we got back at our hotel after 10 for the night.  Needless to say, after showers and food, the kids slept like rocks!
