Star Spangled Beelers

Each year we work a little harder to teach the children a little more about the importance and history of our Nation's independence.  Natalee is starting to understand and Xavier is coming around the bend.  Natalee remembered reading about George Washington, she knows there was a war and we recently talked about the Declaration of Independence.
We also deck the cuties out in red, white, and blue, watch fireworks, eat s'mores and love on family and one another.

The girls got ready yesterday by having me do their toes and fingers (no fingers for Mia until she stops sucking on them!).

Our 15 month old star spangled sassy pants...
Would you just look at those precious sparkly blue eyes?

My wise and helpful star spangled 6 1/2 year old...

Our loud and loving star spangled 5 year old...

Our active and growing, prayed for and wanted, star spangled #4 {23 weeks}...

The Star Spangled Beelers - 2015
Daddy was in charge of Sassy Pants...hence the headband askew and fingers in mouth.  The more loves you have the less those things seem to matter, I've learned.

We had a nice supper with Mike's family and then went over to his Aunt Penny and Uncle Denny's to join extended family for fireworks, s'mores, yard games, and good company.

Sweet Adelyn slept through most of the yard games and fireworks.  I didn't get a picture of her cute little Americana outfit because she was all bundled up - I bet her mama did though!

Ameliya Darby LOVED the fireworks.

Happy Independence Day, friends!  Here's hoping your day was filled with friends and family, love and laughter, and just enough reflection to make you truly appreciative of our freedoms and those who have fought and are fighting to keep them.
