New Do {Natalee}

Natalee came to me with a request to cut her hair a few days ago.  Selfishly, I wanted to grow it back out after she donated it but she really doesn't like her hair long.  Ponytails hurt her head.  Even clips for more than a short period of time make her ache.  The sensory nerves in her noggin must work overtime.  The inspiration for her do was princess Rapunzel after she cut her hair.
Basically a pixie cut (Rapunzel's is highly styled - lol).

When we went to Miss Marcia yesterday I told her what we were after - a pixie cut that still made her look like a girl, was easy-ish to do, and that *could* be styled on Sundays/special occasion days when we went out.

Natalee wears the short hair well and, while I'm sad to see her longer hair go, she's very satisfied.

BEFORE:

This morning after we quickly fixed it:
Basically we can wet and piece it with some product or blow it out and curl/straighten it.  Natalee prefers the quick wet and scrunch/piecing.  The back has just enough wave in the underneath layers to be obnoxious but it works okay with the scrunch style.

When you're 5 1/2 you get to make these kind of important hair decisions.  I even ordered her some natural hair chalk for her birthday, as she is forever begging me to let her color her hair.  Growing up is harder for moms than it is for kids, I think.
