Lake of the Ozarks

We returned home briefly from ND and took off again the next week for the Lake of the Ozarks for a reunion on Mike's side of the family.

Thursday, August 3rd
When we got to where we were staying the kids hit up the pool!
I played lifeguard and sat on the side...
Then we went to the playground...
And then a movie before bedtime...
It was sweet to get time with Adelyn!

Friday, August 4th
We got up and went to do some hiking at Ha Ha Tonka state park.  There are some awesome castle ruins there and lots of fun things to explore and see.  The kids had a great time running the trails and we tried to keep up!
Xavier enjoyed borrowing my phone and taking pictures of the castle.  He really thought it was neat!
Xavier is a good friend to the little ones.

Kea and I had a surprise 60th birthday party for Sara with supper, and that ended our night!

Saturday, August 5th
Saturday was the morning we'd planned to rent jet skis and fish, and of course was the morning that we woke up to gray skies.  We did get outside for a walk before the deluge started but got hit soon after arriving at the playground.
We took the kids to town to browse through the Ozarkland gift shop and buy some fudge and then go out to eat.  I took zero pictures but did snag one of this guy on the way back.  The only time my nephew has ever had a snapchat convo with me was when I sent him this picture. ;)
It continued to pour rain during the reunion so we all huddled in the shelter and attempted to eat.
Last night...we put our 3 big kids in the king size bed and Mike and I bunked wherever.  They slept really well.

Sunday, August 6th
We traveled home on Sunday.  We had plans to play mini golf but the rain continued to come down, so we drove to Columbia and went cosmic bowling.  It was a lot of fun!
We put the 5 kids on a lane with a bumper and the option to use the ramp.  Mike and I, Kea and Miguel then bowled a game on the lane next to them.

Xavier went back and forth between using the ramp and bowling himself.

Waiting your turn is hard!
Real men can bowl with a baby on their hip!
After bowling, we took our kids to do crazy bumper cars.  The two big ones got to drive their own car and the little 2 were fastened into seats in front of Mike and I.  Very fun, although short lived!
 My co-pilot!
