Bikers

Bikers aren't scary!

Bike rides on Papa's trike...

Papa and Grandma invited us to the bike parade at the bike rally they were at this fall.  The park we were at was beautiful and the kids loved seeing the bikes, especially Xavier.
Ending the night with ice cream...

Schuyler Rams Football!

Our nephew, Colby, is playing JV/V Football this year, so we made an effort to get to both a V game and a JV game.

{Stole this pic from my sis...}
The varsity game we went to was homecoming so the air was very festive!  Lance, Lauren, and Theo came over for part of the game.
 #4 is the skinny one. ;)

The JV game had a bit more daylight and Colby played a lot more, so that was fun to watch.  I had to go alone, so it's a little harder to focus, but we cheered for #4! (and the kids eat popcorn)

Art{ing}

I am not artistic.  I desperately want to be, but I just always fall short of the vision in my head.  However, when you homeschool, someone has to give your kiddos art experiences, so I've been trying to do something (beyond drawing, markers, etc) every couple of weeks.

We learned about Michaelangelo in history so I pulled that over into an art lesson.  We read a children's biography about him, and then pretended like we were painting the Sistine Chapel, having to paint laying on our backs!

We also learned about Leonardo DiVinci in history so I pulled in an art lesson where we drew inventions!

In morning time one day we read the poem The Sugarplum Tree and it inspired me to let the children draw candy trees.  They thought that was fun!
Zayden used markers, the rest of the children used oil pastels as their medium.

Natalee, age 8

Xavier, age 7

Ameliya, age 3

One day we designed "dream houses."

He really loves markers!

Christian Skate Night + Mini Golf

The roller rink over in the town Lauren and Lance live in hosts a Christian skate night on the last Monday of the month.  I took the kids over and we spent the afternoon with Lauren and Theo and then left Zayden with them while I took the other three skating.  We aren't naturals on skates but they said they had fun!
Taking pictures of children skating isn't really that easy.
 The manager was really sweet to Natalee and helped her around for awhile.
Mia got brave and left her "walker" behind.

Golf time!
The bonus to this adventure was that they only charge $2/skater and we got to spend some extra time with Lauren and Theo!  Maybe we'll go again sometime this winter.
