School Days Swirling By

The last two weeks of school have swirled by in a flash.

Feb 10th
Mia is doing so well blending and reading.  Teacher mama is so pleased.
Feb 11th
Xavier has been working out in the mornings.  Ev thinks it's great entertainment.

Feb 12th
School with Buzz...
and this dame...
Natalee got a hair cut!
Big kids getting school done while I fed sister.
This big preschooler finished his workbook.  I won this at NICHE this year and it was a lovely surprise.  We really enjoyed it and ordered another in the series for him to do the next few months.  It's a fun combination of cutting, gluing, stickers, and pencil/crayon work.

Feb 13th
Art appreciation...

Feb 14th
We went to a Valentine Critter Cafe at the conservation department. We bring sack lunches and eat them there with a "critter."  Miss Laura brought heart cookies for the kids to decorate.

Feb 15th
Gearing up for spring sports and getting some energy out!
Zayden had a "good all day" day!  He's been working so hard!

Feb 16th
Taste tasting mom's breakfast muffins for the week...warm from the oven!
Mike caught a picture of me living my best life.  I almost didn't put it in, but it's a pretty accurate depiction of lesson planning and life sometimes.

Feb 17th
Nighttime math with Mia while dad was home to wrangle the baby.
And we made Wonder Woman a lasso!

Feb 19th
Morning snuggles...
Natalee's hard at work on math...
Learning to read with Princess Elena...
A reading test for Xavier...he gets some test anxiety, so lots of deep breaths
Zayden usually needs an apple during school time.
Osmo!  Always a favorite with the kids.
The kids often color during read aloud time.  Zayden made an interesting choice for canvas.

Feb 20th
Boogie Board creations by Mia...
The older 2 have been learning about deposits, bank accounts, checks, balancing, and responsible spending in math so we had them balance their piggy banks/safes and then offered to allow them to have fast food (such a treat!) but they had to spend their own money.  We made them order individually, count out their money, receive their change, and then when we got home they subtracted the amount they spent from their piggy bank balance to see what their new balance was.  It was also a little eye opening to Natalee who realized when mom and dad buy fast food for everyone it really adds up!

Feb 21st
Miss Laura from the conservation department held a beautiful Woodland Animal Tea Party.  She encouraged the kids to dress up, bring a stuffed animal friend, and had lovely place settings, snacks, and games.
{she really wanted to participate and then got there and felt a little old - such a hard age}
We've had a full couple of weeks.  We also joined the YMCA.  Natalee went to her first water aerobics class and Xavier and Mike went and worked out together.  We're excited to use our membership more and more and let it become a part of our lifestyle!
