Zayden's First Birthday

Our darling Zayden Sam is 1!  We had a full day of celebrating him yesterday.  I made his favorite breakfast (oatmeal!), he usually doesn't care much for lunch (he ate a gluten free granola bar), and then we had juicyburgers, tator tots, and green beans for supper.  Juicyburgers are probably his all time favorite!  He got to see all 4 of his grandparents because he's a lucky and loved little boy and I made him a gluten free, naturally sweetened smash cake, because he's my sweetie sugar.

I'm a part time children's minister at our church and Wednesdays are when our kids' program meets.  I really wanted to have family supper for our little Zayden and my leaders were so sweet and took care of everything so I'd be free to celebrate our boy.  Thank you all!

Zayden opened a couple presents before supper, after Daddy got home.
A tractor from Grandma Num and Papa.  It sings!
He does love things with wheels. And things that have a button to push.  Double win.

We got Zayden a set of pop up play tents and tunnels.  All these pieces are in that box, plus balls, golf clubs, and more!.

Granted our house isn't big enough to set them all up like in the photo, but they do love them individually, and if we hook all the tunnels together we can make a big long one.  I love that they pop up and down easily.  Zayden thinks they are a blast!

Food time!
See the beautiful cake?  Even dye free sprinkles!

He didn't really eat it (boo) but he did enjoy messing in it!
My dad was smart and got a fork and offered Zayden a real bite of the cake.  He ate a little of it that way!
And then he smashed it about with a spoon.
Grandma scrubbed him off in the tub and then he opened his other present from us (clothes) mainly because it was making Mia crazy that he hadn't!
I think over all this boy had a great time celebrating {one}!  He didn't understand what all the fuss was about but his big brother and sisters were excited to celebrate his life, as were we.  We're so thankful for this Zayden Samuel.
Happy birthday, beautiful boy!  We love you so much! We didn't know there was a hole in our family but you fill it so very well.  We can't imagine doing life without you.
