Week 4 {appointments!, beautiful weather, concert!?}

We started our week by celebrating our precious Evie Lynn turning TWO.  We took snacks to church and our friends sang to Ev before service began.

The children took their test over the New England states.  For the younger two, I put their multiple choice options on the board, read the questions aloud, and let them choose their answers.  I didn't desire to have a grade for them, but they were very excited to have a "test" and did very well!
I had the older two turn their backs to the board and write their responses to each question.  Both of them aced it.  We are enjoying our state study so much!
Week 4 brought us to New York and Pennsylvania, and what fun we did have!  We had a pretty busy week, but we plan to try a New York style cheesecake perhaps, or Philly cheese steak sandwiches.  We discovered the show State Plate to go along with our study and it's so fun!
I purchase first spelling dictionaries for Zayden and Ameliya, and they are getting a ton of use!  A couple of days a week, I have these two use Draw Write Now for their writing time as copywork, and then on the other days I give them a writing prompt.  Writing prompt days exercise those little dictionaries a lot!
Outside school because we had a gorgeous mild week.
I am struggling to get our cursive curriculum done everyday but I sure love the results I'm seeing from it so far!

I split a Hershey bar four ways while I read aloud about Pennsylvania!  Everyone wants to tour the chocolate factory in Hershey, PA!
I didn't plan any special activity for Ev this week, since she had so many birthday toys to play with.
I have been trying to set aside specific time during the day to spend with her, though.  Building, playing, looking in her eyes, soaking up her sweetness.

In preparation for vacation, Mia and Zayden struck a deal with Mike and I to buy digital cameras.  Ready to record memories!
A funny moment from the week.  The children were folding their own laundry and I looked over to Zayden putting his clothes right side out like this...
Natalee - our schedule is picking back up after a lightened summer schedule for therapies and she is working as hard as ever.  She stretches and does exercises morning and night.  She has up to four appointments a week, and that's not including any doctor/specialist appointments.  She works so hard.
Hippotherapy continues to be a very bright spot in the week for Natalee.  This week she got to ride outside on the sensory trail and the children and I played on the cement.
We found roller blades that fit Mia at the thrift store on Thursday, and she did quite a lot of practicing.  Xavier and Zayden want some, too, so we are still on the hunt.
Friday we had an appointment at the orthotist for new custom shoe inserts.

We had a handful of errands to run, so everyone came along and got some time in the "city."  Evie packed her new Spirit bag to bring along with all her important things...boogie board, camera, a baby, new book....she's such a hoot.
We sought out out a Mexican restaurant that we knew would seat us outside and enjoyed lunch before hitting Aldi and heading home.
We spent the rest of Friday home together enjoying the day.  Mike had the day off, which made him a nice long Labor Day weekend.
We ended our week with the free Christian concert on the square.
