The Isolated Easter {Baby's First, Lego Eggs, Daddy in the Kitchen}

Well this Easter was certainly different than those in past years, but different doesn't always mean completely bad.

This was Evalynn's FIRST Easter!

Mike did his share and a large part of mine in being the joy maker today as I was still a little laid up with sickness.
The kids were up bright and early at just after 7 ready to look for their Easter buckets.  The Easter bunny hid them around the house.  Their new Picture This clothes were waiting for them, washed and ready to wear.
{found my bucket!}
It took awhile, but eventually everyone had theirs located and enjoyed looking through them.  Each bucket had 1 treat and candy/snacks in it.  New, larger water bottles for Zayden and Mia, bat grip tape for Xavier, and a backpack for Natalee.
The big kids were also excited to find huge Lego base plates and pop up soccer goals in the living room.

We had brunch mid morning, and then online worship service with our LCC church.  We figured out how to mirror screen stuff from my phone onto the TV and that helped IMMENSELY with everyone's focus for worship.  It's very hard to keep everyone engaged around one little phone screen.
Maybe Evie wasn't so engaged.  Ha.
Little Zayden back there.

The weather was getting ready to turn, so we went ahead and did our Easter egg hunt while Evie napped so we could do it outside.  Mike hid all the eggs while I watched from the lawn chair.
Each child had 20 small eggs and 1 large egg in a specific color to find.
All the eggs had Legos in them that went to a new small set!  That was a fun surprise and kept everyone busy for a little while.

Lego building was, of course, next up on the activities list.
Natalee put together part of her unikitty cloud car set together, but saved the rest for another day.
This was Xavier's first full technic set and he loved it.
Zayden did great with his set and put it together all on his own!
(police plane with a bad guy stealing jewels)
Mia did pretty much all of her sparkle babies set by herself, too!
She posed them for a picture.

After Lego time, we just kind of relaxed for a bit.  The kids planned and put on an Easter drama for Mike and I all on their own.

Mike did all of the kitchen work for our Easter meal with only verbal instructions from me, and I went in and helped get things up for serving and did a few dishes.
Meatloaf, mashed potatoes, green beans, corn, gravy, macaroni and cheese, and hot rolls.
He did a great job.  I appreciate him stepping up instead of just saying let's doing something easier.

After we ate and cleaned up, it was rest time (again) for mom.  We did some reading and the kids played a bit.

We let each of the kids do a "bubble bath and show."  They think this is a huge treat.  They take a bath and we prop an iPad up so they can watch a show while they soak.  No bubble show for Evie but she did get some playtime in.  She must have been looking for a specific toy?  Ha.
Natalee prefers showers so she watched a show while she wore her braces.

Grandma and Papa FaceTimed and that helped us wrap up our evening and wind down a little.

Things were certainly different this year.  We missed our people.  But we made it.  And that counts for something.
