We waited to have our kids open presents from us until we had a calm, quiet time to just be together and celebrate. The opened their something to wear a few days back. They opened a gift after Christmas, too, and then we saved the rest (a couple for each child) and did them all Tuesday night. We had a "party" and ate lots of food, shut off our electronics, and enjoyed our evening together. This is Christmas.
I was so excited to give the big kids these organized art boxes! They'll be perfect for school...perfect! This is what they opened the day after Christmas, because we were all excited about the school island.

Last minute purchase for our girl...she's so happy and brother loves it, too.
Mike and I worked hard to "control" Christmas this year....to let it being about each other and not the presents....to tune in and get each child a couple of things they'd really love instead of ten things they wouldn't. It also helped that the budget was tight (hahaha) and they they are all so blessed by our other family that they don't need much. We're so thankful, so thankful, for these 4 beautiful blessings of ours. Merry Christmas.
