NOT THAT COLD!
I know that I'm not a classroom teacher, but I have to laugh at the teachers (& kids) who are acting like it is sub zero already. I love the teachers here but they might be weenies when it comes to going outside for recess. Most of the grades went out for awhile, but not all of them. All I have to say is, what are ya gonna do when its January? Let them get outside now & get the germs & stink blown off of them. Keeping kids inside too early in the year only breeds more germs in your classroom & we all have enough sickness as it is. I've been keeping one of my windows cracked just to keep the germs flowing out. I know some of us are made of heartier stock than others but bundle up & get up & flowing! If I were a classroom teacher I would have definitely wanted to be outside a couple times today to get the kiddos moving & shaking (& myself)! Schuyler wrote a weather policy that said that they would go out unless it was down to a certain degree (can't remember what exactly) or raining. I think that's a good idea & might have to bring it up at Scotland...that way parents can be sure that their kids are getting some fresh air everyday that its not raining or sub-zero!
Kinda sounds like a negative post...not really knocking the Scotland teachers...just makes me giggle!

AMEN!!! Too bad Schuyler isn't following that recess policy.
that stinks...as a parent i would want my kid out getting to blow off a little energy.
some teachers are just weenies! you would think that they would rather take them outside than keep them inside and get absolutely nothing done b/c they make them watch some dumb movie.
