Weekly Recap {August 9-13 - The First Week}

The first week of school felt very....routine.  We fell into a rhythm pretty easily.

The first day pictures and activities of course took us a bit longer on Monday, but the rest of the days we were done by 1:30-2:00ish.

We were able to get up for Bible study at 7:30 four days of the week.  Friday we let the children stay in bed.  Zayden finishing his study with a prayer...

Look at that cursive!  Rhythm of Handwriting is going wonderfully.
Keeping Evie busy is a full time job!
Somedays I teach Zayden, somedays I teach Batman.
I woke up to this mess one morning...markers were left too close to Evalynn's bed and she did art before falling asleep.  I also woke up to wet sheets more than one morning, which was a delight for the first week of school.
PB&J outside for breakfast
Markers and PB - her best *almost* 2 year old life.
School outdoors.
Natalee had hippotherapy Thursday.  We are trying some new times (which means we have to go on different days) to find a time that is more conducive to Evalynn's nap time.
On Thursday evening, we had a potluck supper with half of the new families from the co-op we are joining.  It was so nice to start making connections.
Toddler blurs - feels appropriate - these two will be a matched set in the nursery.
Ameliya fought a random fever one day.  It came down on it's own and mom prescribed two days of rest and tons of fluids just to make sure she was fine.  No idea what that was about!
The principal okayed the purchase of Lego plans for a USA map.  Each week we will build the 2 states we learned about and at the end we will connect them altogether!
Maine
New Hampshire

This week in Geography we read chapters 1-4 of Rabbit Hill.  We learned about New Hampshire and Maine and know so many fun things about each state!  Math, reading, and writing have all fallen into place and the week zoomed right by!  Science for Mia and Zayden will begin next week, and the older kids will do science with their co-op classes (praise You, Jesus). Off we go, to many great adventures!!
