Officially a Soccer Mom {Mia & Zayden's First Game}

Last year we bought the official soccer mom bus.  This year we actually got to play!!!!

Mia and Zayden had their first soccer game tonight and it was about the cutest thing I've ever watched.  Mike got asked to coach soccer - and no matter how he tried to negotiate out of it he became the coach of the sweet little purple team. They practice two nights a week for an hour and had 4 practices under their belt before tonight's game.  He's able to glean knowledge from getting to know his kids, reading his manual, and watching other coaches.  We're thankful that everyone so far has been very gracious and in it for the kids to learn and have a good time!  Mike is doing a wonderful job coaching - he is the most patient man on earth after all.

Tonight's game was also an hour, which was the perfect amount of time for 5-6 year olds.

There are 6 kids on each team and they play 4 on 4, so they rotated with 2 sitting out every few minutes.  Such a good skill for kids to learn to sit and cheer on their teammates!  Xavier sat in his chair over with the 2 kids sitting out to keep them company and remind them to cheer for their team.
Zayden scored a goal and was happy to run non-stop for an hour!  He has so much energy.  Mia understood passing a bit instead of "herding" and was a great encourager to her team!  She said tonight, "this is the first sport I've ever played!"  We're so happy she's healthy and able to participate!

Evie just came for the snacks.  Natalee sat with Evie and I and helped keep Ev company and cheered on the team in her purple sweat suit.
Mia really felt like we should celebrate the first game with ice cream, so we got some and put it in the freezer until after we ate supper.  She is her grandpa's granddaughter (wink).
Great job to all three of my purple team members!!
