Flowers for Five ⚘

Mike took an afternoon off and went along to Natalee's hippotherapy session with us.  After she was done, we grabbed some lunch and headed to the Pella square to enjoy the tulips.  Official tulip time festivities begin the first full week of May, but I was a bit afraid it would be very very crowded so we went this week.  Maybe we'll go back again, but if not we won't be disappointed since we got an opportunity.

The flowers were absolutely gorgeous and there was not hardly a crowd at all.  The day was overcast, which probably accounted for the lesser people, and we did get drizzled on a bit, but it was still lovely.

Each kid chose a favorite color and we took group and individual photo with their choices.
out take.....real life and pretty cute in itself...they were all chuckling at Ev who kept crouching down every time she posed for a photo...

After we appreciated all the flowers around the square we went walking.  We ventured our way to the Molengracht Canal.
When the sprinkles became more of a drizzle, we ducked in and treated the kids to a couple orders of poffertjes to share from Dutch Fix.  The menu was reduced for Tulip Time, so we just went with plain ones - all enjoyed them but Ameliya.
Attempted a family photo in front of some pretty artwork. #nailedit
The rain cleared and left some heat behind and we started adventuring back slowly, enjoying what we could see and chatting as we went.  We wanted to tour the windmill, but it was full, so we got instructions about when a good time to come back would be and will do it another day.

Before leaving town we decided to let all the kids choose a treat from Jaarsma Bakery and had to wait in line to enter.  It took about 15 minutes to get in and was quite crowded, but I think they all felt like it was worth it.  We took the treats home for after supper.

Making wishes...

A beautiful day with my favorite people.
