Easter with the Tallmans

We spent Saturday night at Papa Curtis's and Grandma Num's.  The kids were exhausted.  They took showers, put on PJs, and climbed in their beds without a peep.  Except little missy who needed a few minutes with Papa and Grandma.

shnackkkkkss......

Papa bought kites so the kids headed out before lunch to try their hand at flying them.  There were some that were big and beautiful, but they bested us.  All. Day. Long.  The little thin ones flew great, though!
Decorating cupcakes for birthday celebrations.
Aunt Lauren introduced Evalynn to the juice pouch.  Huge fan.
Kites in the sky are so peaceful.  Unless you're yelling "stay away from the power lines" or "don't cross your sister's line!"
After a delicious lunch the sun just kept beckoning us back outside.  We cleaned up and headed back out.
We did an Easter egg hunt mid afternoon.  Each of the kids had a color to find.
Both of the little (big!) boys had outgrown their 12" bikes.  Theo has a May birthday coming up, but Zayden's isn't until November.  Grandma and Papa treated them to early and earlier birthday presents of matching bikes!  They are so stinking adorable.
New bikes are always a little intimidating, but the boys have taken to them right away this week!  They are speed.  And they are precious.
Look at them checking them over...
Evalynn you partied so hard today.  You need another nap.  Okay, Mama......
Still playing...
A pause from the sunshine to have desserts and sing the birthday song!
New shoes!
Evalynn, it's been an hour and a half....you better wake up now.
Back to the kites for just a bit before we headed home.
Still trying to conquer the fancy kites.
Cousins playing catch.
The day flew by in a flurry of food and sunshine and smiles and love.  Soaking up the last minutes before it was time to go.
These next two photos pretty accurately depict Papa and Evie's relationship....ornery!
The orneriest.
So much love right here.....all our people together.
This perfect day closed out our beautiful weekend.  Some of us cried a little on the way home, for missing our people so much that it physically hurts to say good-bye.

We're so thankful.  For the moments.  For the sacrifice on the cross that afforded us these privileges.  So very thankful.
