Our last day of vacation brought a day to
- eat the last of the groceries we'd boughten
- pack up what we could
- play games
- mini golf
- eat out!
We slept in on Thursday after our big day Wednesday. Actually mom was up fairly early. I slipped out and went to the local grocery store which had a nice little bakery with freshly baked donuts. This pleased the crew muchly and was a special treat to start our last day.
This tired tiny diva, who had been a vacation trooper but was wearing down quickly, was especially grateful for the donut.
After donuts...games!
This game is loud and chaotic....much like us.
Evie's little video capture of Mike shouting "I quit!" had us rolling.
We played games all morning and then ate as many leftovers and perishables as we could for lunch. We'd done a pretty good job shopping and everything came out pretty evenly.
After lunch we headed to a nearby town for some fun.
A couple kids really wanted to play mini golf and we were fortunate to find a nice course pretty close.
We got nice and warm under the clear Wisconsin sky during our first 18 holes and broke our dye-free rule for an icy treat at the little concession stand.
game 1:
After we cooled off we headed back for our next 18 holes.
game 2:
We had a grand time!
Supper was at a local Mexican restaurant.
Our last stop of the day was at a local ice cream parlor for a yummy treat.
Back at the house we finished our week long Phase 10 game (mom won!). I switched out laundry while we played and was able to come home with pretty much all clean laundry (mom wins again!).
This was a great laid back final day of vacation!
