Eight years ago Zayden took his sweet time coming into the world. He was supposed to give me an October birthstone on my mother's ring, but instead held out to 42 weeks for the November stone. Zayden still marches to his own rhythm. He's a fun kid, caring and intentional in his kindnesses. He has a strong conscious, can still get lost in his own world of imagination, and has a unique mind.
Today, on Zayden's 8th birthday, he thinks he'd like to go to Bible college and become a pastor or youth pastor. I cannot wait to see how God guides Zayden!
Zayden chose breakfast pizza for his birthday breakfast and 'had' to get a donut to stick the candles in.
I accidentally bought relighting candles and didn't realize it until the moment they went up aflame again. Ha. Oops.
After breakfast, Zayden opened a couple of presents. A new Bible bag to fit his Bible and Awana book together.
Ameliya worked SO hard on the gift she gave him. She painted Zayden a super hero puzzle and recruited Dad to help cut it apart. She's so thoughtful and it was a lot of fun and challenging for Zayden!Success!
This year I chose Technic Legos for Zayden to try to challenge him.
A pull back monster truck.
While Zayden was building Legos, Evalynn helped me make his supper dessert - dirt cake.
Zayden's lunch choice - pb&j and carrot chips.
Mike took a PTO day, so he took the three youngest kids to the park while I did a bit of school with the older two. It was a beautiful day and our newly remodeled park is a fun place to play!
Back home, Zayden opened a set of Transformers and a small Lego set to finish up the presents for the day.
He requested chicken strips, tator tots, and mashed potatoes for supper and Mom rounded out the meal with roasted broccoli. Dirt cake for dessert...To wrap up his birthday night, Zayden and Daddy snuggled up to watch the second Harry Potter movie.
Happy birthday, Zayden.
What a blessing it is to be your mommy.
