We kicked off our school year this week and had a really enjoyable few days of falling back into routine and enjoying our sets of fresh curriculum.
The children are all taking some core classes through the HSAP this year (start in September) so we are "lightly schooling" right now and that made the transition easier. Monday, of course, began with back to school pictures and self portraits before any real learning happened. Also, a few fresh supplies. The frames have their name meanings and life verses that we chose for them when we named them.
These grade levels seem absolutely unreal to me. Some days were long but the years have been incredibly short.
We went to take pictures in front of the campus chapel but it is being renovated and they were working bright and early on Monday. So we just went with the campus lawn.
Middle school! She's so ready!
The downhill slope of high school!
The sweetest first grader...
She was quite a poser...I have dozens more.
Wrapping up elementary school!
Definitely ready for year 2 of high school!
Take your picture with the teacher...
And sweet Mia took a picture of the teacher...
Mia used all macron colors for her polka dots...love her ponytail!
I adore that Ev put a crown on her self portrait. She made herself a princess. And when her dad asked her why her portrait was wearing a crown she replied, "because I'm a princess," with an implied "duh" on it. LOL.
Zayden's sunglasses have the reflection of summer activities in them.
He made his self portrait a swimmer.
Love her complimentary colors.
My tiny learner and I prepping to read some Bible and History together.
Her first read aloud is Mrs. Piggle-Wiggle and they had cambric tea in Chapter 1 so we tried it.
New handwriting books for the youngest 3.
Back to phonics we go...we actually continued on this summer so we didn't lose steam.
Mathing together.
It was a lovely start to school. I'm praying it is a great year!
