Happy Birthday, Grandma Num!

We celebrated mom's birthday on Saturday at the Mexican restaurant!

We are now 15 strong! <3 br="">
Mom and Dad have grandkids ranging in age from 15 (this gentle giant) down to 1...two 1 year old grandsons (for a few more days anyways!).
Lauren brought cupcakes!
Get after it, Theo!
Happy, happy birthday, Grandma Num.  You are so loved!

Halloween 2017

Halloween 2017

We started on Saturday by Trick-or-Treating the residents at the Nursing Home!
Friends loaned us this costume - he was so proud to be Pooh!

Our Knight!

Natalee wanted to be an "old time" maid and put her own costume together.

Ameliya couldn't settle on any one thing.  She went to the Nursing Home with her JAM class on Wednesday and was a doctor.  Saturday she was Cinderella...and then Halloween night Minnie.
{Wednesday}

Alright, back to Saturday...
My kids declared that the Nursing Home gives out great candy!  Good chocolate. ;)
Candy trading and sorting out the things with dye to send away...

Today we painted some pumpkins in fall colors...
Regretting his decision to paint with his fingers...

Tonight was Trunk or Treat in our town...
So thankful Mike got 1/2 day off to come be with us...
Love our tribe!
I don't dislike Halloween but it doesn't excite me.  What does excite me is November...a month to focus on Thankfulness.

University Farm Field Trip

The university near us has a lovely farm and I arranged for our homeschool co-op to take a fall field trip there last Tuesday.  The weather was almost miserably cold and windy but we grinned and handled it.  Actually, my crew had a lot of fun despite the cold.

Zayden and his buddy, Callen...
 + Silas...quite a trio!

We got to use an apple cider press and taste cider,

take a hay ride to the horse barns to learn about the horses from a high school class of students and their teacher....

walk through a corn maze, and then ride the hay wagon over to the pumpkin field to pick a pumpkin.
It was cold but it was a great experience and we will definitely ask Mr. Bill if we can come back next year!
