Zayden + Chief {An Equine Experience}

Back in October Zayden won an equine experience at the horse therapy stable where Natalee does her weekly hippotherapy sessions.  It took me too long to get it schedule, but Allison was gracious and Zayden got to take an hour at the end of March for his experience.

He was quiet but he learned so much.  Allison was a patient and enthusiastic instructor and gave Zayden so many tidbits of information to think over.
Zayden got to choose his horse and he picked Chief.  Chief was Natalee's longest running hippotherapy partner and I have a big soft spot for him.
I love Zayden's huge, genuine smile when he got to sit in the saddle and ride.
While Zayden was riding, a group of volunteers were working with Rocky, who Natalee will begin riding for therapy.  It was fun to see that "behind the scenes" bit of action.
Thank you, Allison, for such a wonderful core memory for Zayden.  There is always so much curiosity and perhaps a bit of envy when you are the sibling of a kiddo who does something so awesome like hippotherapy every week.  This was a perfect opportunity for him to see a bit of Natalee's world and learn something new!
And since we had a minute alone....a small DQ blizzard to finish our afternoon.
