Weekly Wind Down {Garden!, French Braids, Bridal Shower, Honoring Scarlette, Beeler Birthdays} June 11-17

Sunday found us winding down after a busy week of VBS.
A new dress and shoes for Natalee on an abnormally chilly June morning.  She's trying sandals out for church!
We spent some time in the garden pulling weeds and planting pumpkins.
Mike's jalapeno peppers are coming on!
We spent a lot of time outdoors and had to eventually resort to sweatshirts!
Mike attempted to take the kids on a bike ride but Natalee's ride ended in a crash.  Her brake handles were stripped and she ended up turning over.  I picked her up in the van and the others finished their ride.

Monday brought family pizza and game night.  I tried a new homemade pizza crust and it was delicious.
We played swoosh and Evie got a half hour of iPad games.
I was chuckling to myself at how much I've changed.  Toddler on an iPad in a midriff shirt (accidentally purchased and kept for sleeping), holding a "soda" (zevia) can.  Jenn from 10 years ago is not the same as Jenn today.
Mia organized a "mini" camp for Evalynn and Zayden was her helper.  Sleeping in tents only lasted one night because no one slept well and mom was left with a bunch of crabby campers the next day.

Tuesday scenes....all the plants from VBS are sprouting!
Mia played a water game for "camp" and the camp color of the day was red.
Sleeping in a tent on a bed for naptime...she sure needed the rest!

On Wednesday Natalee's new bike hand brakes came in the mail (we went with shiny red!) and Mike got her back on the road!  This bike has a ton of miles on it.
Flashback to 2016 when Grandma and Papa Tallman surprised her with her bike.  What freedom and joy it has brought her!
We spent a lot of Wednesday at the community pool using our summer pass and enjoying the sunshine.

Thursday...I attempted French braids in Evalynn's hair but didn't keep it tight enough.  Add clips and did a cute little updo.
We had hippotherapy but before Natalee's session we went to the doll store.
Evie had money from my cousin and she's been saving it specifically for a green outfit.  We've looked other times and left without anything because she hasn't found exactly what she wanted.  But today - green!
Ameliya purchased a new AG mini doll - Nanea.  Her story is from the WWII historical time period.  I guess I missed a photo.
Thursday's camp snack was s'mores and we did those in the oven.
Post braid waves....

We spent a lot of time outside Friday and ended our evening playing homeschool softball with our Newton friends.
These little cuties soak up their time at the fields on their balance bikes and with plenty of snacks.
Building such sweet friendships.

Saturday took us to Missouri for an overnight trip.  First on the agenda - my cousin, Shayna's bridal shower.  So fun to celebrate her!!
Evie approves of cousin Brooke's cupcakes!  They were exceptional.
With the bride! We love you, Shayna!
Evalynn and Aunt Lorn Lorn
Evie and Nannie

After Shayna' shower I went with my cousin Brooke to see her daughter, Scarlette's headstone for the first time.  I'm so proud of her and how she persevered through doing such a hard thing in designing this stone.  What a beautiful tribute to her beautiful little girl.
Chose the brightest prettiest flowers for the first time seeing the stone.
Then it was back to Mike folks' for me to celebrate with our Beeler crew!  June birthdays - Rogan turned 9, AJ turned 8, and Jace and Xavier will turn13!!
Perler beads for the birthday girl!
A great evening outside enjoying each other and the weather!
We went out to Grandma and Papa Tallman's to sleep Saturday night so we could be in Missouri for another day of fun on Sunday!
