The day before her birthday, Xavier had an appointment in Columbia. Grandma Num came along with me and Papa told her to treat the big girl to a big supper. Since we left Columbia early afternoon we waited until we were almost home and stopped to eat at Colton's.
Her birthday fell on a Friday, which meant we had to be at the school for sis's OT/PT at 8:00 a.m. I packed one of her presents along so she'd have a little something special while we waited.
After therapy a stop at Casey's for birthday doughnuts was pretty much a must...
Mia was a really fun and gracious gift receiver, which is always a joy to witness.
We've been reading Brambly Hedge, which is a fun series of stories about mice and Mia is really into the book. A Woodzeez tree house with some Calico Critter friends was just the ticket for her little imagination.
The kids played for hours with the new tree house and friends.
Shayna stopped by with birthday goodies...
And then one more gift after Daddy came home - a diary and a Spirit book...When Daddy came home we had burritos for supper at the birthday girl's request and ice cream sundaes (she didn't want cake this year!).
The next day we had grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins over to celebrate one last time.
Pizza for an early supper was just the ticket and then more ice cream, of course.
Aunt Lauren got her a Picture This dress - Mia gets to design it and the company will print the dress in Mia's size and send it to her. Mia has already been working on her designs.
Papa's sidekick...
Our Mia is so loved and we are so thankful for her. Last year we waited 2 months for her to have a window of wellness just enough to celebrate her birthday. We are so grateful for her health and for her life.
