Christmas with the Beelers 2022

We spent Sunday night at Papa and Grandma Tallmans so our commute to Papa and Grammy Beelers on Monday morning was short but snowy!  A couple of fresh inches fell Sunday night and Monday morning but the transit handled fine and we made the trip into town without incident.
We started our day with a yummy brunch.  Our bellies got plenty full with biscuits and gravy, bacon, and eggs.  After we cleaned up breakfast it was present time.
Satin pillowcases for all the girls - which was funny because we got Grammy Sara a silk pillowcase!  Our hair will look amazing, right, and less wrinkles on our faces I'm told!?
pop beads were a hit with Evie....she glammed us all up
Natalee got an automatic hair curler and AJ was so excited to have her hair curled.
We got AJ and Isa a bluetooth microphone and disco ball and both were a hit!
Games, lunch prep, snacks!
We taught the big kids, Kea, and Miguel to play swoosh, a card game that some friends taught us.
We had a midday meal of taco ring, salad, and all the fixings and filled our already full bellies again!
The curler finished charging and I did the rest of AJ's hair.  We had a good talk about her family's upcoming move and how she was feeling about it.  It was good to sit down and just have a big girl talk with her.  She's growing up quickly.
Isa told me, "I'm so glad you came to Christmas!"
I had a few tears hugging our nieces, Kea & Miguel before we left.  They are moving to Kansas in the next couple weeks and it's harder to say good-bye when you know it might be a little longer before we see them again.
Evalynn sang us to the city limits, a made up song about Daddy being old to the tune of Hark, the Herald Angels Sing (very on tune and pitch) and then promptly fell fast asleep.
What a great day we had with our family.  It was lovely to catch up, watch the kids play, and connect with each other.  I'm so grateful we were able to gather and thankful for Grammy and Papa's hospitality.

Christmas with the Tallmans 2022

On Christmas Day we were up and at 'em and out of the house by a bit after 8 to head to Missouri.  The bags were all packed the day before so it was just a matter of getting ready, loading, and getting out the door.  We did it with minor fussing.

We started our day at church in our hometown.  It was nice to see the faces of a few of our old congregation and to worship with our families.
After church we headed to Papa and Grandma Tallman's.  I just simply didn't take enough photos in the busy-ness of the day, but we had a beautiful day with our crazy bunch.
While we were waiting I let Artie open a present from us thinking he'd play with it.  He did, but it also wetted his appetite to want to open the other gifts.  Oops.  LOL.
uh oh - peep Arthur spotting Grandma hugging someone else......
We ate and did stockings - both of which are a lot of fun.
We had a big variety of slider sandwiches, charcuterie, fresh fruit, queso, tea ring, and other yummies.  The kids were very excited for Grandma and Papa's stockings.  Natalee was excited for the food!
Our gift time was as organized as it can be with 17 of us....which actually isn't very organized at all, but beautiful in it's own way.
I barely took photos of the present opening - certainly not the fun group gifts of jazzminton and a set of walkie talkies - and my big kids and Mike sat far enough away from me that they got to show me what they got later.  LOL.  Such is life with a big beautiful family.
Zayden painted Theo a Christmas picture.
Ameliya painted these canvas Santas for both sets of grandparents and I love them so much.
After gift opening it was time to play games, play with new toys, eat more (and more!), and visit with one another.  The day flew, especially since we didn't start until after church!
Quite a Twisty Pet collection!  She was so excited to get a cat pet in her gifts on Monday.
Nannie scored Evalynn some "bird cereal" (Aldi fruit rounds) and could have wrapped them up as a gift!
Evalynn and Honey got matching PJs!  A direct quote from Ev, "Evie and Honey are going to match.  This is so exciting!"
Our day went too fast, honestly.  It was a lovely day but it just seemed to fly by.  I'm so thankful we got to gather everyone and spend time together!
