Mia's Soccer Season

Mia played 10U soccer this spring and had such a great season.  She had two terrific young coaches and learned a ton about positions, technique, and the game as a whole.

Soccer is a hard sport for me to video and photograph but I did my best!
Go #11!!!
The first few games were plenty chilly and the fan club wore winter clothes.
She got to play with her bestie, Cora!  The only girls on their team!
Liam was also on our team and was a terrific player and teammate!
Mia's confidence grew a lot over the season.  She preferred playing offense but did a good job on defense, too.
We had fun with our soccer hairstyles.
Grandma and Papa caught a game and had supper with us after!
She scored a goal!  I missed getting it on video but it was great!!! (May 7th)
Grammy & Papa caught the sunny game when she scored a goal and we got ice cream after!
Girl power!
The skies opened up and they played in the rain!
Soggy fan club...
soggy boggy soccer gals...

She ended the season with a bright sunshine-y game and an even match against the gold team.
The coaches really made it a great season.  Very appreciative of their communication and dedication.
Mia had a big cheering section for her last game!  The coach treated the team to ice cream - Grammy and Papa treated the rest of the family.
Grandma Cindy and Papa Curtis went opposite directions to cheer on all their soccer stars.  Grandma came north and Papa went east to cheer for Theo.  We are so thankful for grandparents who go the extra - especially after a full day of work.

Mia ended up extended her season a couple weeks by playing in a one day tournament.  They played 3 games.  We started in the rain but the day got progressively better and they won the whole tournament!
Three FBC kiddos ⌄
Terrific season Miss Mia!  What a joy to play on a team with your friends and to be willing and able to learn so much this spring!  Great work!!

Homeschool Track and Field Day

We joined our Kingdom Amplifiers group for Track and Field Day.  The afternoon began rainy but cleared up to get all the events done and ended up being perfect temps.

I hung out with the oldest girls so Natalee and I were together.  Even Evie had a little group so everyone got to participate this year.

Natalee long jumping...
Zayden was one of the oldest in his age group and got to be a leader this year.
He got to be the example for his group of how to do the long jump.
Teen boys...
Mia is in the middle....ready to race a couple of friends.
Little legs running her race!

"Middle" girls...
Each of the kids did a long race, short race, softball throw, obstacle course, and long jump.  Then the top 6 of each group ran a race in front of the stands for everyone to watch.
It was a great afternoon.
These beauties didn't bring home any ribbons but they sure worked hard and were great cheerleaders to their friends!
